How do you lead through major shifts in global power? We had the honor of hearing from someone with firsthand experience: Mr. George Yeo, a respected statesman, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Trade & Industry, Minister of Health, holding a rank of the Brigadier General in singapore Airforce.
Mr. Yeo shared a powerful idea: effective leadership isn’t about trying to predict the future. He explained that real understanding begins with a solid grasp of history and culture, the very things that shape how nations act. From there, he showed how to build a long-term vision by paying close attention to the trends unfolding today. He tied it all together with a key piece of advice on mindset: the best way to contribute is to make learning from others your first priority.
It was a true lesson in understanding the deep forces that shape world events. Providing our students with this kind of strategic, contextual thinking is what we do at Luxembourg School of Business. We are deeply grateful to Mr. Yeo for sharing his experience.
