Dr. David W. Versailles

David W. Versailles is currently a Full Professor of strategic management at Paris School of Business in Paris where he co-heads the newPIC chair (“new Practices for Innovation and Creativity”) with Valerie Mérindol, and a Visiting Full Professor at Luxembourg School of Business. He holds a Doctorate in economics from University Aix Marseille 3 (Paul Cezanne) and the Habilitation to supervise research in economics from the University of Nice. 

David has a twin activity as a faculty and as a consultant. He was first the chief scientist for the Directorate for Financial affairs in the French Ministry of Defense and for the Conseil économique de la Défense. David was then the founding director of the multidisciplinary Research centre of the French Air Force and also served as the first Dean for research in the French Air Force Academy. After leaving the French MoD, David developed a portfolio of activities in corporate strategy, governance and in business modeling (including on public private partnerships) for consulting companies in Belgium and in Luxembourg, where he was also a partner. He has been working for European institutions (European Space Agency, EUROCONTROL), national or local governments, and world leaders in the aviation and telecom industry (SITA). David currently runs his own business consulting company in Luxembourg. 

David’s research elaborates on the combination of economics, strategic management (incl. business modeling), industrial organization, organization theory, knowledge theory and management of technology. His research also covers the methodology of the social sciences and epistemology. David is currently a program officer for the EURAM Special interest group (SIG) on Innovation and the corresponding organizer of the standing track on digital innovation for the EURAM annual conference. He designs and delivers courses in economics, corporate strategy and strategic management, innovation and technology management, business models and business model innovation, and research methods. He is invited as a keynote speaker on hot topics in relation to innovation on a regular basis.
