Ariel Shwayder is an LEO Lecturer of Business Economics and Public Policy at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. At Luxembourg School of Business, Ari teaches Managerial Economics within the MBA program. He received a B.A. in mathematics with honors from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in economics from Northwestern University. His research has focused on macroeconomics and finance, particularly on commodities pricing as well as the links between commodity prices and household expectations.
Prior to academia, Ari has worked for McKinsey and Company in Boston as a management consultant advising clients in insurance, banking, and other fields, as well as in government. Ari has also worked as an economic advisor to the US Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee.
