Luxembourg School of Business Earns AACSB Accreditation: What It Means for Your Education
Luxembourg School of Business Earns AACSB Accreditation
What it means for your education—and why this international recognition matters when choosing a business school.
How LSB is recognized in Luxembourg and internationally
When choosing a business school, two questions naturally matter: is the degree officially recognized, and how has the quality of the school been assessed? At LSB, national accreditation and AACSB accreditation address these questions in different ways.
Recognized in Luxembourg
LSB’s degree programs are accredited by Luxembourg’s Ministry of Higher Education and Research. This national accreditation establishes their official status within Luxembourg’s higher education system.
Accredited internationally
AACSB accreditation adds international recognition of the business school’s academic quality and institutional standards following a rigorous external review.
What does AACSB accreditation actually mean?
Founded in 1916, AACSB International is one of the world’s leading accreditation organizations for business education. Earning accreditation involves a rigorous review by experienced international peers. For LSB, this process took approximately five and a half years and involved assessment against AACSB’s nine standards.
- Academic quality and curriculum development
- Faculty qualifications, teaching and research
- Student learning and educational outcomes
- Institutional governance and strategy
- Engagement with business and society
- Commitment to continuous improvement
Accreditation is not simply recognition of past achievements. Schools must continue to demonstrate that they meet AACSB’s standards.
Why does this matter when choosing a business school?
Choosing where to study is a significant investment of time, effort and financial resources. International accreditation offers an additional, independently assessed benchmark of institutional quality.
Bachelor’s students
An additional indication of the academic standards behind your first university education.
Master’s students
Independent evidence of institutional quality when choosing an advanced qualification, potentially in a new country.
MBA candidates
Another factor to evaluate when making an important investment in your professional development.
AACSB accreditation does not guarantee employment, admission to another university or automatic degree equivalence in every country. It provides independent evidence about the school’s educational standards.
A school built in Luxembourg, and still growing.
LSB began in 2015 with just six MBA students and classes held in hotel conference rooms. Today, the school has grown to a community of approximately 400 students. That growth has been accompanied by years of work to strengthen its academic standards and student experience.
LSB offers a Bachelor in International Business, a Master in Management, a Master in International Finance, a Full-Time MBA and a Weekend MBA. AACSB accreditation marks a new chapter for this Luxembourg-founded school—and a continuing commitment to the quality of the education it provides.
