Louis de Schorlemer

Louis de Schorlemer, a Luxembourg national, is Managing Partner with Corporate Diplomat, a consultancy dedicated to communications for Mergers & Acquisitions he founded in 2017 after an extensive career in corporate communications. Operating out of Brussels, Belgium, Corporate Diplomat is home in Europe and operates globally. It has managed assignments with a deal value exceeding €4,7bn and customers include Cargill, Philips, UCB and Neckermann.

In 2016, Louis joined Sibelco, a mining company, and established the central communications function in his role as Head of Corporate Communications. He assumed responsibility for internal and external communications both globally and for Europe. Between 2013 and 2016, he served as Manager Corporate Communications with Cargill for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was a company spokesperson and managed communications for numerous transactions, including Cargill’s $440mio acquisition of ADM’s global chocolate business.

From 2003 to 2010, Louis was Director of Communications, Europe at Gallup, where he led on communications for multiple pan-European social studies, such as the Eurobarometer or the longitudinal European Working Conditions Survey across 35 countries. During that time, he established a partnership with Euronews and commented on national and European elections on broadcast. 

Louis also assumed responsibility for internal and external communications of Imerys’ Paper & Packaging business group with over 45 facilities globally and partnered with Shepard Fox, a public relations agency, where he joined the campaign promoting the European Inventor Award. 

Today, Louis serves on the Supervisory Board of Villeroy & Boch AG in Germany and is on the Advisory Board of Lift Me Off, a UK-Luxembourg based start-up enabling in-orbit satellite servicing. Prior, he served as a non-executive director to Gault & Millau in Paris, France.

Louis holds a masters’ degree in global marketing communications and advertising (MA) from Emerson College (1998) and obtained a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Vlerick Business School in 2019 alongside work.

In 2020, he was elected to the Board of the European Association of Communication Directors and he is a longstanding Member of the Board of the Association Luxembourgeoise du Diabète.

Louis is a regular guest speaker at conferences and has published articles dealing with the complexity of strategic communication.
