The goal of this program is to make "behind the scenes & industry-specific knowledge" into a skillset that can be learned.
The Executive Master in Financial Services Industry (EMFSI) program is a flexible and practical option for working professionals. It offers an experience comparable to an MBA, with an emphasis on real-world skills and knowledge in finance. At the end of the program, participants are awarded the FSP (Financial Services Professional) designation and certification of competency, further enhancing their career profile. While this program does not confer a Master’s Degree, it provides the comprehensive understanding and practical insights essential for career advancement in the finance industry.

They’ve walked the halls of power as CEOs of financial services companies, initiated transformations for leading insurance firms, led stock exchanges, and successfully launched private equity firms.

Kevin Sweeney is an academic and consultant with a Doctor of Law (JD) from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and he has extensive experience in financial technology, corporate and entrepreneurial finance, and social enterprises. He was the CEO of a nonprofit real estate and regional economic development organization, and he was an executive at MassMutual Financial Group in a variety of senior roles, where he managed strategic initiatives in the United States, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Japan, Argentina, and Chile. He has also served on several corporate boards of directors internationally, including a NASDAQ-traded U.S. holding company for a federally chartered bank and various global financial services affiliates of MassMutual. He also teaches Corporate Finance at Columbia University, and he is a member of the entrepreneurship faculty at Babson College in the United States. He teaches the Banking chapter in EMFSI.
George Paresishvili has over 28 years of experience in Emerging and Frontier Markets, Wall Street, and the City of London in areas such as stock exchange, securities clearing and settlement, brokerage, bank treasury, securities sales and trading, wealth management, and investment banking. In 2021- 2022, he conducted USAID-funded consulting projects in Central Asia by providing diagnostic reports, and recommendations and drafting regulations aimed at the development of local capital markets. He currently serves as the CEO of the Tashkent Stock Exchange and an Independent Board Member of Mikrokreditbank in Uzbekistan. George Paresishvili holds an MBA degree from the University of Michigan Ross Business School and a BS in Economics with Distinction from Tbilisi State University. In the EMFSI Program George teaches a chapter on the Capital Markets industry.
Emiliano is the EY Luxembourg Insurance Consulting Leader who dedicates most of his time to helping (re)insurance carriers transform and reshape their business model. He has almost 20 years of working experience with large organizations across 3 continents, leading many initiatives aimed at driving large-scale transformations, cost optimization, and organizational change to step-shift companies’ performance. Prior to EY, he was the Luxembourg Insurance Leader for another major consulting firm. He holds a master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Pisa, and an MBA from IE Business School. In the EMFSI Program Emiliano teaches a chapter on the Insurance Industry.
Ezechiel Havrenne is an investment professional and investor focused on private equity assets in the luxury segment and private debt with a FinTech component. He is the editor-in-chief of the Investment Management review published by Larcier-Francis Lefebvre, and co-editor-in-chief of the European Investment Fund Review, the two leading investment fund reviews in the market. Ezechiel has a wide network of investment professionals working for large private equity and private debt firms, family offices, pension funds, funds of funds, insurance companies, and credit institutions. He received his LLM degree from the University of Pennsylvania-Carey Law School and a law degree with honors from the University of Louvain (Belgium). He teaches the Investment Funds chapter in EMFSI.
Former CEO of UBS Fund Services (Luxembourg) SA and Head of UBS in Luxembourg Asset Servicing Institutional Desks… Pierre-Antoine Boulat has had a long and diverse career in sell – and buy-side capital markets, working for banks, working for banks (CCF in Paris), brokers (Salomon Brothers in Paris and London), institutional asset managers (JP Morgan in London and New York, Citigroup in Stamford, Connecticut, and UBS in Chicago and Zürich), and even a fintech house (TradingScreen) and an asset servicer (Northern Trust UK). In the EMFSI Program Pierre-Antoine covers topics of risk and private banking.
Laurent Hengesch is a Luxembourgish investor and founding partner of Ilavska Vuillermoz Capital (IVC), which he founded in 2019. Within three years IVC developed into one of the leading Luxembourg-founded private equity firms and one of the fastest-growing FinTech investors in Europe.
We are looking for ambitious professionals who possess a number of key qualities: strong intellectual ability, academic capacity, leadership, and initiative. The scope of the program focuses on finance as a business and delivers insight into how each individual piece of that industry works and interacts with others. This knowledge is crucial for management as well as the development of new businesses in finance. In order to be able to learn on that level, this program starts with the assumption of a certain level of knowledge of finance.
