Leaders often say, “Our people are our best asset”. Hiring trends seem to suggest that leaders truly believe this: organizations spend more resources on finding and selecting great people than they ever have before, and worldwide, the recruiting industry has grown exponentially in the last decade. But finding great people isn’t enough. In truth, the organization itself—the systems, structures, culture, and norms—are key to unlocking vast employee potential. In this Masterclass, we’ll explore a firm that has built a radical organization, specifically grounded in the idea that the organizational context matters as much as the people we bring into the organization. Through examining this edge case organization, we will uncover a few key principles about humans that can be applied in any organizational setting.
